When do you need a certified true copy?
Certified copies are typically requested when the original cannot or should not be handed over – diplomas, passports, unique company documents – or when the document must be filed with several authorities at once. Many foreign universities, employers and immigration offices specifically ask for certified copies.
Apostille on a certified copy
A plain photocopy cannot receive an apostille, but a notary-certified copy can. This is often the fastest route when authenticating the original would be complicated or slow.
