When do you need a certified translation?
Whenever a document has to be presented in an official procedure – at a court, registry office, immigration authority, university or company registry – the receiving body will almost always ask for a translation whose accuracy is formally certified. Typical cases:
- working, settling or applying for a residence permit abroad,
- marriage, divorce or registering a child's birth in another country,
- recognition of diplomas and school certificates, further studies,
- setting up a company or branch, tenders and grant applications,
- inheritance matters, property purchases, visa and citizenship applications.
Use abroad or in Hungary?
Every country sets its own rules for certified translations. Many countries accept translations certified by a sworn translator – through our international network of translators we provide a translation that meets the requirements of the destination country.
For use before Hungarian authorities, Hungarian law as a general rule reserves certified translations for the state-designated body (OFFI), with exceptions such as EU-language translations of company-registration documents. Translation and legalization in one place
When a document is used abroad, the translation often has to be combined with an apostille or consular legalization. Whether the certification goes on the original or on the translation – and in which order – depends on the destination country. We plan the correct sequence so you never pay twice for the same step.

Translations are produced by translators experienced in the document type concerned; names, dates, numbers and stamp texts are checked separately, because a single typo can delay an official procedure by weeks. Your documents are handled confidentially and in line with the GDPR.
